Closed cooling tower is an efficient and energy-saving cooling equipment, which is widely used in industry, commerce and HVAC systems. Different from the open cooling tower, the closed cooling tower exchanges heat through a closed circulation system, which avoids the direct contact between the cooling medium and the outside air.

The closed type cooling tower exploited evaporation absorb heat principle to cool liquid.The cooling water stored in the bottom of the cooling tower. And the working liquid is closed cycle in the radiator coiled pipe.The cooling water spray on the surface of the coiled pipe by the water pump. And some of the water is evaporated to take heat away. Water in the air and unevaporated water is stopped by eliminator and fall into the PVC fill.The water in the PVC fill will be cooled by passing air. Then the water temperature will lower and fall into the basing. The water pump will sump the water from basing again to water distribution systems.So,it finished the circulating cooling.

Its corrosion resistance is 10-20 times higher than that of conventional galvanized steel sheets.   • Fan – Low-speed Cooling Tower Dedicated Low-noise Extrusion

The fan is an extremely important component that operates in relatively harsh working environments, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to configure a specialized fan tailored to the operating conditions of the cooling tower.   • Cooler

The cooler is a key component of the cooling tower. It circulates a cooling medium internally, while externally it is cooled by air (air cooling) and water spray (water cooling) to meet cooling requirements. The cooler is made of 304 stainless steel, offering high-strength corrosion resistance. For this project, the cooler features an anti-freeze design and consists entirely of bare round tubes without fins to ensure its cooling efficiency. The welding points between the tubes and elbows are consistent with the original tubing.

  • Spray Pipe

Made of U-PVC pipe, it offers improved pressure resistance, sun exposure resistance, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance to chloride ions. It meets the requirements for heavy salt spray corrosion.

  • Water Collector

The water collector is a critical component in preventing water drift in cooling towers. A high-performance water collector not only saves water but also improves the surrounding environment of the tower, extends the service life of the fan, and prevents safety hazards caused by drifting water freezing in winter.   • Cooling Tower Fill

Closed Loop Cooling Tower Maintenance Precautions



1. Maintenance of equipment:

Regularly clean the dust, oil stains, and other debris on the outer shell, and also remove the scale on the heat exchange coil. Regularly clean the spray filter. The scaling material is the biggest influencing factor on the heat dissipation effect of the heat transfer coil.

2. Water quality management and maintenance:

Due to the good heat dissipation effect inside the heat exchange coil and long-term exposure to hot water circulation, it is relatively easy to scale. Therefore, soft water must be used for the internal water of the heat exchange coil. The outer layer of the cooler is sprayed with a spray pump, and the spray water is tap water. If it frequently comes into contact with hot copper pipes, scaling will definitely occur, and it should be regularly cleaned.

3. Maintenance and upkeep of pumps:

① The inlet pipe must be highly sealed;

② The imported pipeline must be filled with liquid, and the pump is prohibited from running for a long time in a cavitation state;

③ Regularly check the current of the motor and ensure that it does not exceed the rated current of the motor;

④ The pump should be supervised by a dedicated person during operation to prevent accidents;

⑤ It is strictly prohibited to arbitrarily turn off the cooling water supply during high temperature operation;

⑥ After long-term operation of the pump, if the noise and vibration of the unit increase due to mechanical wear, it should be stopped for inspection. If necessary, vulnerable parts and bearings can be replaced. The maintenance period of the unit is one year.

4. Maintenance and upkeep of mechanical seals inside the pump:

① Mechanical seal lubrication should be clean and free of solid particles;

② Mechanical seals are strictly prohibited from working under dry friction conditions

③ Before starting, the pump (motor) should be turned a few times to avoid damaging the seal when suddenly started.

A closed circuit cooling tower isolates the cooling medium from air via a sealed coil heat exchanger, with spray water circulating only outside the coil to cool it, preventing water contamination. An open tower directly exposes circulating water to air, making it more susceptible to environmental impact and higher water consumption.

2.How to choose the model of a closed circuit cooling tower? What parameters need to be considered?
